So my 20 acres I'm planning on growing could be £25,000 worth?!?Seen £1250 in writing.
Makes me wonder if I'm better off selling it instead of feeding it

Can always just clamp it myself and then sell it by the trailer load at £60/t? Not planning on doing it but it does make you wonder! You'll need to find a buyer first though.
The price of it will largely be dictated by what kind of growing season we have this year.So my 20 acres I'm planning on growing could be £25,000 worth?!?

It’s all very well in June when input usage is low but you’d think it needs to keep heading up if they’re wanting milk in any quantity through the winter. For some of us growing our own maize is never going to be an option.Fm up 2 pence to 42p. Might be naive but that’s enough to make a profit at current input prices
It will get overcooked .!Farmers can't resistI don’t really understand why they have put the milk price up so much so quickly. They’ve never been overly bothered before. They must be absolutely terrified that production will fall off a cliff.
I wouldn’t bank on people not expanding. The price of stock is going up and up so there’s is a growing demand and the price being offered for maize is unreal.
I strongly suspect there will be a downside to this curve at some pointIt will get overcooked .!Farmers can't resist
But if you did that, what would you then feed to your cows?So my 20 acres I'm planning on growing could be £25,000 worth?!?

Got loads of silage here there and everywhere, and still got 6 months to grow moreBut if you did that, what would you then feed to your cows?

Standard cheshire pressureMeanwhile my family is selling maize for £350/ac to people who haven't paid their bills 2 years.
It doesn’t really bother me what others are paying I think if it did I would visit the mental home more often contentment is important in this gameTakes it to 40.5ppl standard liquid litre (42ppl manufacturing) for 1st June? They're starting to leg well behind the pack.
Taking that into account. Anyway I may eat my wordsF
Trouble is current input prices are a lot lower than they will be next month and the month after
Not crazy bothered about national milk productionAye maybe so, but I can't see national milk production expanding much at that price, more needed me thinks if they want more milk..
I seem to have a mixture of emotions at the moment, sometimes excitement/optimism at the rising milk prices, sometimes gut wrenching worry at rising input costs.F
