Or he could be saying "what people don't know they make up "

As regular as someone mentioning too much/little rain, there's a chap in somewhere in Scotland with 1000 cows moving milk buyers at the drop of a hat. It must be a case which ever lorry gets there to suck it up first it happens that often.
And we all know that Arla guy's always tell the truth !!
It was true about the 200cow going back up to 2000 cow guy in Lockerbie and this one is probably true as well, so why not come clean and tell WHY they need more milk from new members ?

@Rossymons would you like a little bet on it if you are so sure ?

I'm not a betting man but if you're correct I will happily post saying that you were right. If it's true I have no idea why they need the milk but clearly they feel as though they do.

Yeah crack I’m sure they’re giving out memberships for free, more milk the merrier even if there’s no home for the milk I’m sure Arla will process it at a loss.

There are lots of possiblities, milk swap, direct contract etc. One thing is for sure if there are needing extra milk they will only take the milk if it is a good move for current members. The staff know what they are doing and will not be taking extra milk if it is not needed and only be taking it if the sums stack up.

Will there be a future possibility of more members being added to Arla or have they put a lid on members with expectation of supply to grow within house? We tried joining Arla a couple of times but weren't interested now with another organic co-op

No idea about the future, but closed at the moment. Any decision has to be a good move for current members.

You loose. No new owners have been recruited since 2017. The only recruiting since has been a few organic directs in the south of england. Is that clear enough @Alfred ? However I guess i will have to answer this again in another few months.

There are a few owners adding second units that may have supplied other companies previously as they have a right too under their Arla contract (but none in Scotland recently)

I should point out it is obvious that Arla is not recruiting if you look at the milk price table. If Arla were recruiting do you think the other companies would have cut prices in the way they have?

Well well @farmer on a bike what a load of tosh !! If you had read this weeks Scottish Farmer it had an article about John Jameison's new 2nd unit at Roundbush .( none in Scotland recently)

So you might be able to tell us who is buying Mr Forrest's milk at Lockerbie, if its not being used in your factory ? Or is he just not an owner yet !!

For someone who doesn’t supply Arla you seen very interested in other people’s business. As you already seem to know all the answers we will take your version then as you are very knowledgable about what is happening so why ask as does it affect you.
As @farmer on a bike said if a member is taking on a new unit and running it as part of his present business then he is perfectly within his contractual rights to supply Arla from that new unit as well so maybe Messrs Jameison is doing that and as for Messrs Forrest, there are quite a few Forrests who are Arla members from that area so who knows. Sorry you already will know.

I suspect your and my views on recent is somewhat different, I am talking about when Arla have confirmed the right to go ahead with a second unit. The time between that point and having it up and running may take awhile. I presume that explains your first example.
I repeat no new owners have been taken on since 2017. Whether your example, is a milk swap or was already an owner with expansion notified a couple of years ago may explain this.

I here the two big producers who thought were going to Arla started the story themselves to try to squeeze more out of Robert Graham
