They're already up there! Hipro 450, wheat 230, fert up 50 since the turn of the year. . .

High feed prices are only bad if you’re feeding a lot, there’s a good argument that they keep a lid on production and which in turn helps keep the supply/demand equation in balance, protecting the milk price.

I just hope we have a better growing season than last year, I’ll of fed 50% more than usual over the past 12 months with having limited grass for spring calvers in April/May followed by limited silage for autumns due to no rain in April/May! Fortunately feeds been not too expensive so it’s worked out.

have cheese from here delivered, bloody nice, anyone supply them?

It's from South Caernarfon Creamery in North Wales, they are a farmer owned co op. The butter and cheese is really nice, and the company seems to be doing well and I think they have recently invested in their plant.

Always wary of "headline prices"

No need to be wary, it's there in black and white what the requirements are to get that price. Easily achievable to exceed the standard price with the right milk components and quality.

Interesting that Waitrose no longer think milking on there own land is the best use of resources and there future direction of travel, and that is on probably the best milk price in the country.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
