Most cost effective ISObus contoller

Maybe upgrading a few machines in the next couple of years and they will probably be Isobus compatable, but i won't need all machines to come with they're own controller, (and save £1000)

I'd like to permanently mount a controller in each tractor.

It would be nice if 2 of them could do GPS too, the others can be use basic controllers.

Which do i go for???

Not sure which would be the best one for us,

Do i....
  1. Go for the MF isobus? Benefits: Being integrated into the tractor and can use it for HMS, hydralic flow, etc. Drawbacks: Don't know how big the new screen is in the 7600/6600 range, looking at pics,it looks quite small
  2. Do i go for the Topcon X30? Benefits: Big screen, can multitask - Guidance, Auto steer, rate controller, etc Drawbacks: Not integrated, expensive
  3. The Kverneland Tellus box? Benefits: 2 screens so can use 2 functions at once without swapping between screens Drawbacks: Don't know how effective it is - Can it cope? Very big screen, Not integrated
What are others opinions?

Topcon x30 for me because its offer so much to more.

Yes we have one and use the isobus virtual screen for our vicon geo spreader ( bought it without a Tellus box and saved a fortune because we already a capable controller)

You can add more than one isobus unit to the screen, then just tap the icon to toggle between unit.

We looked into it as it looked like we would need it for a new fert spreader and I can't help but think the technology has a long way to go.

But this on the other hand has to be the best idea yet:
http://app.claas.com/2013/sima/en/points-forts/utapp.php
That has to be the future of Isobus control. iPad etc for £400 is a lot cheaper than these isobus control boxes manufacturers are pushing. Makes it so much more available to all! Though it does depend on the price of the app, unlikely to be £1.99!!

Would think it would be to Claas' benefit to make it considerably cheaper than any rivals and sell large quantities to farmers who no doubt many have a tablet of some sort already ready to use! Out of interest how much is an X30?

Saw this pic.twitter.com/AUrqSWYWbZ at the Sima show the other week, the small black box bolts on the implement and the ipad just connects to it wirelessly. Talking to the chap on the stand they were testing a version that isobus implements plugged into, then wireless to the ipad. So could be released very soon.

I can only see that app being able to do basic isobus controlling of your machine, think you would need something else to do VRA with a fert spreader at the moment.

But it's a step forward.!
