What’s peoples thoughts on a Mxm 175 pro 50k ?
My son says there are a few knocking around for sale at reasonable price but I don’t know much about them as I’m a Deere man. Would be interested in peoples thoughts and experiences please. Cheers

Had a 53 plate 175, pull like a train but trouble with loom under cab floor, dealer quoted £3000 to replace, managed to get repaired by auto electrician for £400. Also brake master cylinder needed replacing after failing, not cheap either. Think the pros were an improvement and it's a lot of tractor for the money. Despite my experience with mine it was a weapon on a bb940!

Never had any trouble with pump, just as well, no fitters I knew understood it, think common rail came in not long after so probably not developed properly.

Always thought they had problems with diesel pump as electronic ,

We sold a good few MXM 175s when they first came out in CaseIH colours.
Pretty much everyone had injection pump problems, some of them several injection pumps.
There was though a mod program that included an extra fuel filter that was very fine micron & this seemed to sort them.
I don't know what injection pump system is on the Pro's though, I'd left the company by then I think.
Other problems were mainly electric, sensors, pressure switches etc.
They certainly have some grunt though.

Have a search on here for Long Wheelbase NH TM 175 and 190! They’re far from the best but a lot get on really well with them. Can’t think they’re a good tractor for running on the toad all the time though as they run the back end very hot as it is

Grim when the first came out ( the non-Pro version ) but a 50K Pro now will probably be decent cheap horsepower. Cab mounts had a bit of a habit of coming undone and they don't like dirty fuel but what does?

Had a chat with a relative who’s in the trade and he said there are better tractors to be had Anyone got any brain waves what WOULD be a good buy for a sensible priced 170-200 horsepower with 50k.

I bought an 03 190 for exactly those reasons, cheap hp, 50k, air brakes etc. It’s semi retired now but we we’re putting about 1200 hours/year on it & 75% of that was on the road daily. Been as good as gold, had clutch packs which is expected with the work we’re doing & the odd sensor but apart from that it’s had nothing spent on it apart from servicing etc! There was a lot of people saying don’t buy one when I got it but it’s proved a good buy & would buy another if it came from a good home

That’s interesting to hear. Probably for every negative response there’s loads of them running along smoothly. You have to expect a few repairs with an older tractor but I certainly don’t want major costly ones. Was yours a pro?
