my wind turbine project

Our planning appeal after being in the councils hands for 2 years, the planning inspectorates hands for over 18 months dragging their heels has now been called in for the final nail in the coffin by the Secretary of State for the environment.
Its seems Hinkley Point nuclear power station will be built and decommissioned by the time we get a decision.
How you can make an application and the goal posts move within planning guidance and government policy is beyond me.
All the delays are due to letter writing NIMBIES who live in houses that my family had no objections to being built 30 years ago and to be honest most of them have made their money in some industry that has probably been less than squeaky clean.
They would mostly all be dead and buried before the turbine gets halfway through its life.
They've set themselves up a little clan with a title of CCCLHPS or some such like which they quote at every opportunity and these inspectors and MP's listen intently because they are the most vocal.

Is this is power to the people were all fecked!!

Good luck to all those with turbines, I'm going to spend my dairy aid from europe buying fluorescent paint and clmbing gear to paint them all bright fecking yellow!!

Same thing happened to a farm near us. They new it would go through on appeal so they called it in.
At what cost to the tax payer tho?
And how much more stress to the people involved on both sides?
Once a decision has been made life can move on again as things quickly progress or are forgotten but no decision fecks your business up big time as other projects just get put on hold INCASE project x did happen! Happened to me while my turbine went threw appeal but it did in the end happen as was passed but its a process I'd be very very cautious about going threw again.

Cost to the farmer would easily be in excess of 30k to date with no prospect of it ever being built. The scary fact in my local authority is the number that have tried and failed to get any turbine over 200kw approved with the largest to date that has been approved being only 50kw.

Can you see on ERIC what the problem is? When ours had its G59 it was only on a temporary activation and then it shut down again for several hours until sufficient info had been sent through to satisfy them it was cleared to operate. We could see on ERIC that it was because the temporary activation had run out.

How's everyone else doing today? Nice to see our 'Tilly Turbine' fulfilling her potential at last, been close to cut-out speed a few times though. Currently averaging 75 kw/hr

Yep glad of this wind though as she had a sluggish start, v light winds for first 7 weeks! It was the 'Welsh gang' that did ours so probably same men as yours although some of them had never worked on construction before only maintenance. They came up the night before, stayed locally, on site by 8am, commissioning finished 8pm then drive back to S Wales (approx. 5 hrs)!:sleep:

Eric has lost signal at the moment its a different error code than earlier though, it got up over 230kw a few times so that might have something to do with it

Just wish they would give you a book or something with the error codes so you knew what was going on, and it says there is a 24hr helpline on the website but I cant get hold of anyone

You can't do anything about codes it just lets the technicians know what the problem is. You won't be able to do anything to the machine just sit and watch it will take several weeks to get any turbine going without faults they will need to tweek the settings

I would be absolutely gutted if a turbine was stopped waiting for attention!!! It is the windiest time of year. I have real concerns that endurance and many other small manufacturers are going to pull the plug or at least offer absolutely extortionate o&m contracts

Good luck
