NatWest identity verification

They have been pestering me for this for months, and I assume they have been pestering many other businesses the same.

I have a problem in that firstly the WhooYu app just will not accept any of our passport photos. No matter how many times, in different light we try, and so on, it just will not accept any of our passport photos.
I've tried using the alternative method, using YourBusinessProfile but the conditions for verification and forms for that are so complicated that it is absolutely ridiculous.

I'm at my wits end with this rubbish. What is other's experience? Have you had trouble with the WhooYu app?

Oh and another thing, my brother doesn't have any photo identification of any kind anyway, so that's out of the question.

My grandfather, father and I, the business, has been banking with these clowns since they were the National Provincial Bank in the 1940's if not earlier, but now they want a load of crock during lockdown when all their local branches are locked down and my branch twenty miles away doesn't know me from Adam anyhow. I'm really pee'd off this afternoon what with my scanner playing silly-buggers for a couple of hours on top.

This isnt payment verification, but anti-money laundering full account verification
I went through similar with HSBC recently, frustrating with very little feedback, they saw all our documents in 2017, but one partner had a new passport since, so i sent in a copy of it as requested.
6 weeks later they sent a nasty letter saying they would close the account.
1/2 hour on hold and i discovered passport needs verifying by a professional, so did that.
6 weeks later, another message
1/2 hour on hold - everyones passports to be sent in verified.

Two weeks later another letter
1/2 hour on hold, please verify all passports "I did" .. Oh yes sir i see that now sorry

Finally all finished now. But it does say in the rules ltd companies all ID to be verified, partnerships just a copy required. Frustrating

Yes been there with NAT WEST it has taken months with passports, accountant verifying addresses, other bank documents being uploaded, all the time being threatened with account closure despite being with them from the start of the business 25 years ago (non farming business)!

Easier to go through .gov verify than this process.

I am in a partnership. I think I shall need to physically send copies in to them after finding someone during lockdown to verify the documents. Won't help my brother's verification though, because he hasn't got a photo identity of any kind.
There is no way of giving them feedback apart from their helpline and I've been on that twice already. There is no way of getting through to them that their HooYu ap just doesn't accept the passport photo even though all the ones I've taken look perfectly good to me. I just can't be the only one that can't post a photo identity through their useless app.

Isn't it appalling! A bloody omnishambles on NatWest's part. I don't think half their small business customers will get this done by the final deadline.

Yes I've been thro all that with HSBC last year. Still don't know if it is finished.
Six phone calls and three visits to deliver things.
Refuse point blank to do it all face to face even tho Mrs Y has taught most of the tellers!
All gone quiet so I'm going to keep quiet as well.

That's what we did. Photocopy of driving licence and a utility bill sent to Nat West manager, no third party verification needed.

Just gone through this sh!t with hsbc , what a freakin nightmare been putting it off till they threatened to close the account,

Been with them since midland bank over 40 years and they want this crap now , cretins treat every one as criminals and the fraudsters wander off scott free in some foreign land .

if anything collecting all this info off us and putting all in one place at where ever they see suitable is leaving us wide open to fraud in the future when someone hacks it all 😤.

Can just see the headline now , ' we will do what ever we can to make sure this never happens again '...........🙄

We've not had this...so far. We do get a letter every 3 days wanting us to change to another bank. Not taken the hint yet, mainly cos there ain't another bank with a walk in branch within 200 miles....
Even the transit vans have been kicked into touch since covid.
Gone are the days when a 2 minute call to Capt. Mainwaring at local branch solved everything. I blame internet banking, standards have slipped, staff cut, personal service out the window, and fraud now rife.

I've had to do this with Natwest it is a load of crap having to prove beneficial ownership etc. Hooyu didn't work for us either, give natwest a call. I didnt have to weight to long on hold and sent verified (by accountant) scan of driving license. Seems to have all gone away now so they must be satisfied!

Just been there with HSBC, I mentioned it on here last year. Threats to close my account if the 'nonsense info' is not received. My last of many uploads to them regarding who I actually am, was a copy of my current Shot Gun cert, which seems to have done the trick as my facilities were renewed again in December without any acknowledgement or further communication. Good Luck.
