Nee bank recommendation

Looking to change banks shortly, currently with RBS but they have no local branch any more and our manager/contact is office based and 200miles away. What banks do others use, need a decent o/d facility, we have no finance or other lending. Farm bought and paid for. RBS won't increase o/d to facilitate investment in business

why do people use an O/D for investment in a business, take a loan, ( secured if necessary) has a structured repayment rather than "sort that out next month" , doesn't stress cashflow, existing OD limit remains,
If the investment is worth doing in the business, the loan is worth taking out

It would be just short term borrowing and don't want to be tied into a long term loan, tho there's probably loans to cover that too. I've found out in the last couple of days that to get a agri specialist at the RBS you have to be borrowing £400k + which is nowhere near what we want. Anyone use Barclays as they have a agri specialist for my area

I've found barclays to be utter stroke!

Stuck with them now for 10 years due to a fixed mortgage but would sooner have paid more interest than deal with them with hindsight

I was with Barclays when I had the Engineering business, never a problem ( they were sh!t hot on fraud)
Farms with Nat West , again never had any problems, we even had a brilliant ag manager
I think it’s down to the people / managers you deal with

It’s down to the individual, not the logo.

A few things are certain though with whoever - they all ask a ridiculously amount of questions, their online stuff is complicated to get set up and it’s never straightforward!

Ditching CB / virgin after many years, they were painful in every aspect

I am lucky , my mrs works as a criminal investigator… for one of the banks , she does all our business banking , I’d be knackered if it was left to me
