Needle protection gloves

Following a few narrow escapes injecting sheep, I'm looking to buy some needle-proof gloves. Just wondering what type/make people recommend.
Have seen some with protection on the palm of the hand and fingers. I've seen others with protection on the back of the hand.
Which type works best for people?
Thanks in advance / Diolch.

After having the unfortunate accident of needle stick injury,I have a neoprene type glove ,used a lot in fisheries which is not quite needle proof along the fingers. If you google it you may well be lucky!

You're looking for a number 4 for puncture resistance, if you can. I would guess leather would be fairly decent, but perhaps not a 4.

reckon you’ll struggle to find something with dexterity and protection from a decent needle. Druggie needles are generally quite narrow but easily bent.

when I was looking at gloves a while back it was hexarmour and turtleskin that seemed the best of the bunch. Maybe a law enforcement style glove might be the ticket.

I've been thinking about this some more, and I've just had a lightbulb moment.

These had a very good name when I looked into things previously, as a good balance of protection and dexterity. We field tried every make of glove that was out there too, so I would guarantee it was the best at the time for cut and puncture protection. I see that the coating seems to be on the front though, so maybe not so much protection for the back of the hands. Probably still worth a try anyway though.

I don't know how many thousand sheep and lambs I've injected in the last 50 years. The only time i've injected myself was when I went to pick up the gun and bottle off the seat of the van and didn't look properly what I was doing. The needle went through the middle of my palm, not hitting a bone. Hurt a lot for a bit but that was all.

punctured but not injected then?

I find that when working with jagging stuff it isn't my hand's that are most at risk. Last time I jagged myself it was in the knee with Dectomax jumping off a set of mobile pens. Jumping in and out of the pickup or looking for stuff in the pickup can be more dangerous than administering!
