We have an old college mate that is 18 months into a Tesla 3. Before the covid issues he was travelling all over the UK. He is organised and does top up at any opportunity. He calculated and debated (mostly with himself) about the switch from a hybrid. He could have had cheaper transport but for a similar spec car the difference to drive a car with super car performance was surprisingly close. When driven hard it will eat the power but under normal driving he gets a good range.I disagree Martin. We do a similar job . You can charge at hotel overnight. Charge at a fuel station for 30 mins while catching up on emails not answered while driving. Oh and benefit in mind is CURRENTLY very favourable . Imagine an electric Volvo v90 cross country with all electric. Off road in a muddy field you could lock al four motors to give a true 4 wheel drive! It would be unstoppable !
Personally I am not convinced about the current green credentials but I might have done the same in his situation. Friend has also leased to avoid the risk of possible unknown depreciation and future battery costs.
