I have one major gripe with power command and it's not helped by where we live. The farm gate is about 20 yards from a busy crossroads with traffic lights and although they don't stop you for long you nearly always have to stop. Now the problem with the power command is that every time you stop it jumps back to 12th which in my opinion is way to slow. Then some dummy decided between 12 and 13 he would put a clutch pack so you have this delay followed by a jump. If it started in 15th I think it would be an awsome tractor.

When I'm on silage the following happens :

- Leave pit in 12, jump, shift up to 15 through the yard. Reach gate back to 12

- pull out of gate up to 13 with a jump then stop, back to 12

- green light go, jump and 7 shifts up to 50k

I'm fed up of this tractor making me look like a shite driver...... I'm shite enough as it is!

The little black line thing annoyed me when you dip the clutch and it wouldn't go back to it unless you revved the knackers of it or pressed downshift then up shift. Still, I don't have to worry about it any more as I can't see me buying one for myself, much rather the Belarus which hadn't even a synchro in sight but a gearbox that obeyed me!

Bloody hell what is the world coming to. All you need to do to change gear is press a button. That's it! No clutch to press, no levers to juggle it really can't get much easier or simpler can it.

Anyone who disagrees ought to get a reality check and spend a few days on something with a non power assisted clutch and trans tunnel crash gears. they will soon come round to my way of thinking.
Ignore all of the above I’ve since bought an Auto Command and there’s no going back😂😂😂

5 years on a power command and so far 4 months on autocommand and it’s a bloody revelation! It makes anything else seem absolutely crap and is so easy to drive.

I find it noticeably better on fuel as well.

As above, the range change into 13th is a killer, and also the dreaded flashing black line. Why new Holland could never make the start off gear selectable on power command I’ll never know. Also that worry of the 50k bearing hanging over your head.

EVERY time I have mentioned how fudging useless powercommand (or worse, range command) was on TFF, the blue brigade descend on me with their knives right out. It's a fudging shower of a gearbox and I am convinced it was a ploy by NH to get people to buy a vario.

Probably why they won’t put dynamic in the T7 yet either. It’s a far better box, lovely and smooth but still doesn’t come close to Autocommand.

Anyone run a autocommand alongside a other brand of vario?

I do really like mine and agree with comments above, but don't think its very smooth at low speeds, junctions. We had a auto power JD and sure it was much smoother than autocommand. Was a fair few years ago though.

Iv driven a fair few brands of varios and imho the jd and agco is the best, the nh isnt as refined and i found it quite agressive when slowing down. The jd with the single stick is very user friendly and any idiot could get the hang of it quickly

Ok. I have a new holland t7040 on a 11 plate with 2800hrs on it. Front linkage and pto, power command remapped.

Question is, I've the chance to upgrade it to a T7. 250 autocommand ( i have one already and love it )with front links and pto. It's on a 12 plate wuth 2000hrs and would have 6minths dealer warrenty on it.

Both tractors in very good condition wuth good tyres.

How much to change ££££ ???
Nine years old and one years hours?
