Fantastic machine, I had an 03 reg, traded it for a cx7080, another great combine but my 760 was immaculate and regret getting rid as values have risen and is probably worth a lot more now and no adblue sensors to stop you halfway through the day! Just check the big electric connectors (under the cab and in the engine bay) for corrosion as it’ll make you swear when it throws up errors, I found a quick clean with electrical contact cleaner sorted it.

would you expect these cx 7** to hold money better/equal/or worse than the tx 6*
especially being 5 walker versions?
im looking at one bit dearer that a tx66 but 5 walker be handier cost more but if it holds its money it doesn't matter.
this is a 3000 cutting hour machine but theres TX out there with 4-5000 hours on still selling relatively ok.
also been offered a CX8** 6 walker machine more money again but lower hours
especially being 5 walker versions?

I’d take the lower hours machine any day. Could save a lot on servicing costs if the higher hours machines are well worn and haven’t been looked after.

i agree but 10k just seems enough when I'm already stretching the budget, justifying this a little bit to my self on the idea that it will still be worth near enough what i pay in 5 years time. same argument probably works on the dearer one.

Just be careful that the higher hours machine doesn’t need 10k spent on it before it gets to work. I.e you make end up spending the extra 10k on both.

I would doubt that, depend where you live, no lexions here for 10 miles.
Went from a tx65 to a cx8030 (next generation on from a cx7**) I would say the extra 10k would be worth it. Not that there was/is anything wrong with the TX.

I would say a TX 66 will be about 25k for a 2500hrs
the CX 7 I'm looking at is 35k but has 3000 hours
or the CX 8 is 45k but nearer 2000 hours
I was thinking 5 walker be easier around here and probably hold its money better?
I'm already stretching the budget, 45k is achievable but does feel a lot to have sat in the 1 machine but if it doesn't loose much it doesn't really matter.
are the TX6 the CX5/6 in the new numbers and the CX 7/8 a newer design premium type machine?
very confused with the numbers running side by side

Without doubt I would go for the CX8 if it could be afforded for £45k.
If I'm honest I'd say that was cheap for a machine of that capacity - more like a trade price than retail.

A CX has little in common to the TX, and is worth the extra.
CX7 have always been 5 walker, but for a year or two the 5 walker had a CX 8 number... just to confuse!
CX with four numbers are the latest range.

Good point that! CX8030, CX8040 and CX8050 are/were all 5 walker models.
All CX800 series were 6 walker though - I assumed that the OP was referring to these as I doubt you'd see any CX8000 series below about £60k.

I was meaning weren't they something like a 6080 and an 8080 running at the same time? could have been when they were cx6.80 and cx 8.80 style numbers i haven't been following the numbers but i thought you could get 2 different styles?
my understanding was cx 60** and 80** were both 6 walkers of same age and 50** and 70** were 5 walkers.
I think I'm even more confused than ever...
why not something simple like cx780 became cx7.80 then cx 7080 or whatever ...

Correct. CX5080 and CX5090 were 5 walker. CX6080 and CX6090 were six walker. The CX70** and CX80** were the premium/flagship version as you say.

Anything CX 5 or 6 is not like a big CX, its more like a TX or the very old 8000 series.
Your doing very well if you can find a CX 700 for 35k! When I was looking last year the ones presented to me were mid 50s for 03 plated ones! CX800s were better value but plenty big for down here.
