New Holland TS115 fanbelt

How in the hell can you change a fanbelt on this tractor?
I have got an identical replacement belt (the numbers match on both belts)
I have routed the belt as the diagram says but when I pull the tensioner and it reaches its maximum I still need almost 1 centimeter of travel. What am I doing wrong? It has A/C

Rule number one of fan belt changing, make a drawing of the routing , in the dust on the side panel , On a bit Of paper or the modern way take a photo before you start.
I learned the hard way on an early 6000 series Deere, Belt would go on about four different ways but was a bit Goldilocks , one way was too slack , one way was too tight but eventually, after much head scratching , one way was “just right” . Got some amount of stick from the rest of the lads in the workshop for the time it took though .
So many variations now , air con or not , air brakes or not , several part numbers for belts because of these factors.
A quick look and it looks simple , “I will easy remember how it goes“ , soon as the belts off it’s like the men in black waved their little pen in front of you and its all gone . 😂😂

I’ve re read your post, are you struggling to get belt on and not that it’s too long? You need it around the tensioner to fit and feed it onto air con or alternator last IIRC

be careful not to bend the tensioner arm. the slightest of misalignment and the belt will only last a day or so. we had a 7840 which was ok until it went on to the combi drill. in a couple of hrs the belt was toast. it was ok on other work. a new tensioner assembly cured it. it looked straight and on a straight edge couldn't see the misalignment.

You need to use a ratchet on the bolt on the tensioner wheel to pull it out of the way. If you try to lever it you will put a flat spot on the pulley wheel and it won’t last any time.

At the end we had to loosen the AC compressor and the alternator, it is on now :) I know I have to pull the tensioner by the bolt with a ratchet
