Due to a change of cropping plans from our original grower we need someone to replace the area he was intending to grow for us.
I know it's only a small area but If there is anyone with circa 5 hectares of land available for growing peas on a contract we would be pleased to hear from you. The stock seed is very early generation Breeders Seed but we would be prepared to subsidise the stock seed to C2 price levels or even better and offer a generous premium over the large blue values at the time. Early movement after harvest not an issue.
This is an opportunity to try a novel new Pink Pea which is creating a lot of interest with end users already. The variety is called Panther and in UK Trials too date has been yielding above large blue varieties such as Prophet, stands very well with good disease resistance. This would be the first production of the variety in the U.K.
Panther retains its pink colour even after cooking, so hopefully we have something which might help increase the human consumption of peas in general.
