Looking for a new shear bucket and looking for users and opinions on the different brands available. 2 most likely candidates are Albutt or Shelbourne at the moment but open to suggestions.

How much was the triolet? I know they’re supposed to be the dogs bollox but I believe they’re two if not three times the price of others.Trioliet have a good one, I know a big dairy farm that we’re going through a 3 ram shear grab every 6 months, they moved to trioliet and although it was a lot heavier they still had it after 24 months and we’re buying another for the second machine
I didn’t ask but it was what I was going to get a pair of if a new venture had got off the ground. I think the farm that I went to were around 1200 cows back then but I heard the other day their around 2,000 now and the silage pits I’d seen now have cubicles and a roof nowHow much was the triolet? Of course if you’re working them that hard that others won’t stick the pace they could still be good value none the less but I’m not sure us mere mortals could justify one.
IIRC the triolet was about 10k when I bought a prodig for about 3.5lk.I didn’t ask but it was what I was going to get a pair of if a new venture had got off the ground. Are they any good for cleanly cutting bales, befor putting them in a feeder wagon?
The prodig will quite happily slice through a round bale, indeed that is what they are designed to do as they have teeth that hold onto the net and wrap as they do it.Is there any shear buckets out there that come with the bucket base that be capable of carrying a good 250 -300kg of barley, but still makes a good job of the pit face without ripping it apart
