New Tub Mixer

Has anyone priced up a tub mixer recently? Currently got a Strautmann 2401 twin auger on demo and really impressed with it but the price is scary!

Someone I know has had a Hi-Spec recently and said they were a fair bit cheaper than Trioliet and Strautmann.

Just wondering if anyone has changed theres recently, what you went for and roughly how much it was? Thanks.

Redrock were the best value when we changed ours a few years ago. Our neighbour is a dealer (B & R Machinery) he’s sold several, no real complaints here.

Relined a 12m Siloking last year with a kit from RS Agri using local smiddy
Very helpful company.
Cost including smiddy time circa £ 3500.
If that is an option.

Both Trioliet and Siloking for 24cube twin augur hardox tub are north of £50k new now … but then again quality of mix is key when you consider the value of the foodstuffs going through it.

Of the two (had both), I’d be buying the Trioliet as it has taller augers and ultimately a better mix. And unless you are feeding in to troughs, avoid conveyors as just another thing to go wrong/get caught

Good advice re doors/conveyors! Many can now have stainless steel linings and auger edges although this will still wear. Pre chopping ingredients will save lots of wear and tear. - if you can

If I’ve put two & two together correctly your old Trioliet was bought by a neighbour & sold to another neighbour who has given it a new lease of life & kept it going.

It had done some work when it left here … albeit we‘d refreshed both augers but the tub/was very thin i.e. holes were starting to appear

Get it relined. Our BVL is a 2007 vintage and has been relined 3 times. It’s a special build with 2 conveyers to feed into a trough so I’d dread to see the cost of a new one now.

We’ve been looking at a 24 cube, retail price which doesn’t really mean much but you will be well over £60,000. Triolet more expensive than the abbey.
looking at swapping ours while it’s worth something, once there worn out there worth nowt and nobody wants them.

Everything has gone mad. 2006 we payed about 15k for a 14 cube, single auger (what is now badged) Kverneland siloking, winter 18/19 between 24-25k for 20 cube twin auger Redrock. Both single axle, front conveyor. Now you’re talking 50-70k for 24 cube? Its getting out of hand!

We were quoted £45k for a 20 cube Kuhn with cross conveyor and pretty much basic machine. Had an 18 cube Kuhn on demo, currently waiting on an rs Agri to arrive on demo but been promised it’ll be here this week for nearly 2 months and nothing has arrived as yet so who knows
