Looking to do the brakes on my 210 auto command. CNH prices are just ridiculous and even the people quoting me are saying it's suicide from CNH to have put them up that much.

Anyone had any success with other brands? Ideally wanted the HD Kevlar discs. With all the bits it's looking at been over £2500 in parts alone. They haven't gone yet it's purely preventative on hours and use it's had.

Then they'll wonder why machines aren't been maintained as they should be or brakes suddenly go as it's very unaffordable to carry out minor and moderate maintenance jobs now.

Thanks

Are your spacers and pistons both wore? Did your dealer price the kit with the spacers and tear drop discs ? Not many at all go for the Kevlar discs , tear drop is sufficient.
No i rang my mechanic for prices as he's in the know and gave me the list with prices. Then rang around a few others i use and got bits her and there cheaper on quotes.

What do you mean by tear drop? I've not got into it yet, brakes work and no squeaks or scraping. But it's done 7000 hours so want to get them done before they go or de-laminate with age.

If it has done 7000hrs on standard discs are the Kevlar worth the investment as next time round it in theory could have 14000hrs? Pistons and backing plates don't always need doing.

I've discussed the kevlar disc option with service manager at dealer and mechanics and was advised against if already getting decent hrs from standard. Apparently if you are unlucky enough to wear the kevlar discs out to the point the remains go through the transmission it's far worse than if the standard discs do it.

chances are if you don’t have filings in your filters your pistons and spacers are ok . If it all goes catastrophically then they could be all worn.
There is a few options for discs , cheap ones then tear drop are the newer ones brought out , then you have the hd ones . No expert but think I was told the tear drop shape increases oil flow around it .

Above would be an example . Split it ,fire in seals and discs, you be done and won’t cost near 2500 .

Don't use non genuine parts either! If for whatever reason it groans or grumbles you'll be wondering if it was down to not fitting the correct parts. Anything internal like that, I fit genuine. Not worth the hassle going back in because you fitted a non genuine part.
