I wonder how many producers moved buyers yesterday especially LacPatrick men. Locally most of them were tied in with old Ballyrashane contracts until yesterday so couldn't move. Tanker driver talk is a number of large /very large men moved Milk Trans have an extra tanker in this area to collect the new men until the existing routes are changed.

Never heard of anyone being tied in by a contract from Ballyrashane times? That’s over 2.5 years ago

It seems that Ballyrashane contracts are still active, suppliers have to give 6 months notice to leave on either 30th June or 31st December. However their ex ToM neighbours who never signed a contract are free to move when they like with no notice period. No doubt Lakeland will clear up this situation in due course.

Oh right I get what you mean now.
Ex Ballyrashane members could and have been handing in notices and leaving before now

20 million litres gone on the 1st of the month. One neighbour here rang the tanker driver at 3:30 in the afternoon of the 31/12 and told him not to come tomorrow, I’ve moved, first LP knew he was even thinking about it.

What's everyone changing for...points of pennies. There was a post on another thread that the average UK milk price in 1996 was 26.06p/ litre. That's 23 years ago. All the advances in milk production and we've only stood still. What's the answer, more milk more cow, more work more stress. No.The answer is pigs

It didn't stop people in the past. If I recall right, the ballyrashane promise was five tenths of a penny above Dale Farm.

Not to take away from Dale Farm's price performance, but some of these moves aren't 'all about the money'. Irreparable damage has been done to confidence.
