So let's say breakeven price for the last 3 years has been 26.5ppl, would you be happy to settle for 27.5ppl for the next 3 years? Would 1ppl be sufficient margin to cover your reinvestment and a 'profit' at the end of 6 years?
I didn't comment on the 27.5p, it was more about if we should rely on a consultant that says their clients lost money 6 years out of ten.
27.5 isn't spectacular, but why would any customer fix a price significantly higher than the trend when farmers keep producing more?

I've heard theres a spread plate approx cost £400 which complies with the nitrate regulations. It increases the droplet sizes some how. Anyone got a pic or information as it ticks the box on price compared to a db at 9500

I know someone down south that that bought one for 1100 euro, you must be getting a good exchange rate.

Can I feed maize to milkers without a diet feeder?
Yes , best done with a bucket of . Throw out the maize first in the morning and when its gone put out the silage . The cows will root to get at any maize thats underneath . Dont forget to feed high protien nuts in the parlour to get the benefit of the maize .
If you have plenty of maize 50 / 50 maize and grass silage is a great diet . Whites of poradown will fix you up with a diet feeder for handy money if you want to go that road makes the job a lot easier :)
