Not Nearly Finished

At last, end in sight! 25 acres wheat to cut at home, should get it tomorrow afternoon, then 70 acres spring rape for a customer, when it's fit. Did look undoable at one point, couple of demo combines helped move things on. The difference in approach to demos is pretty vast, I've found!

Finished the wheat yesterday, and into the winter beans which are doing well so far at 2ton an acre, unlike the wheat which has yielded sub 3ton. Everybody I have talked to locally is the same, under 3ton and poor bushels (n)

We finished oats at the weekend

Peaola Monday / Tuesday and then went to lupins Wednesday (not ready) so linseed instead and cut 70% but had to leave last field as not fit !

Beans today and for the next couple of days then I think we are going to have to wait for the lupins, last linseed field and millet to come fit

Probably do some drilling while we wait next week

Radish just about ready for desiccant. Mustard was Regloned sometime ago but these foggy nights are worse than a heavy rain, it was over 20% this afternoon.

Finished the last of the wheat on Friday evening. Will finish osr drilling this morning. Plenty more land prep to do for winter barley plus some odds & sods of reforming beetle banks & grass sowing.

Cut half the beans and now run out of crops ready to cut so 1 25ac field of linseed, 150ac of spring beans, 100ac of lupins and 100ac of millet to go

Think we will park combine for a week and get on with some drilling this week, perfect harvesting weather here today !

finished wheat on sunday, tried some beans-looked ok and fit to go in the field but the combined sample was very green still-wishfull thinking this early!

Cutting beans here currrently (or at least trying to!). The usual weed is causing endless troubles - part of me wishes I'd regloned it off given this spell of dry weather but not sure it would necessarily have helped. Just means the slow job of putting them through the cleaner before the dryer. Once cleaned moisture comes out around 17.5%.

If anyone can find a simpler/easier way, I'm all ears!!

Still nearly 2/3 of harvest to go here. Amount of rain we had at the weekend means it won't go here for a couple of days if we get some decent dying weather.
Barley mostly broken over/flat so will be slow.
Ground conditions are the major concern, got the long wire ropes all looked out. :(
