Oilseed rape establishment

There's some ridiculously forward stuff on these pictures. Mine usually looks like that in Feb!!

Mine at (expanded) cotyledon, some pushing 1st leaf. This is normal for this time in September sown beginning of September

I would generally agree with you but we haven't had the CSFB issues that these folks have had ,,,,, my rape is possibly a little bit more advanced than yours and I'm just starting the fight against the FB ,,,,, a lot will depend on next weeks weather for me

as @dontknowanything has mentioned before on here there is a new normal for OSR in areas where FB is a issue

it will end badly though when we get a late decent snowfall one spring, been there done that 15 years or so ago and it was not pretty !

have you given it any N ? surely the companion will compete in that respect ?

looks very nice though
No, nothing aside from seeds of various descriptions.

On the last field we ran out of companion seed with a few ha left. Apparently with the companion the OSR is bigger, with noticeably less CSFB and pigeon damage - I haven’t been to look myself yet though.

take a camera when you look - it might just convince me to companion crop OSR next year !

This is last block of our rape to go in , red marl which didn't come out the back of the trio very nice , neighbour was astonished that we were actually putting seed down but we left it a day and then run cultipress through (minus tines) and then followed with a set of rolls . Variety is Campus at 100 seeds / M and it seems every one has grown ,

Edit i just found a sq M which missed the cultipress and roll treatment so added pic

Actually I'm fighting both pests at the moment.

Methinks a week earlier and 40 seeds/sqm minimum next year.
