I've got a pair of the Steel Blues from a small business in the midlands. Big boots uk I think. I got my overboots from there and pair of their zip sided boots. Can't believe they're not bigger on farm.

What are they like on width fitting ? I bought a new pair of size 14 redbacks last year as a best boots pair, and moved my old ones down to every day pair. Can't get my feet into the new ones, just too tight, lots of others complaining too. Also my daughter's redbacks have fallen to pieces after less than 12 months, so I don't think I'll be going back. But being a wide size 14 it's a nightmare getting anything to fit without going to a specialist.

I’ve gone up a size with my mongrels, and some other footwear to be fair, do your feet keep growing as you get older? I’m in my 50’s and had been in size -0 for better part of 40 years
They don’t keep growing, but they do get longer/wider……apparently as you age all the ligaments that hold them together can stretch a bit, looked it up as I have gone up half a size in most shoes.

Long before "market boots" became popular the Newmarket jockeys used to buy "Newmarket boots " a half size too small . They used to force them on , and then sit with their booted feet alternately in a bath of very hot water , and then cold water . They reckoned that that was the only way to get a perfect fit suitable for riding racehorses .

I would say they're generous in width. I don't feel the steel toe at all. Due to the zip, you can lace them how you like. So being ex military, I like to look like a GI still... however see a lot of people of socials that don't lace them up to the top. I guess to make them feel more loose?

I've been using Redbacks for years and am pretty happy, but don't mind trying something else - it might be better! Which Blundstones do you recommend? I've just taken a squint at their website and there are a crazy number of types... also, how does the sizing compare with other makes, will a UK10 which is fine with Redbacks be fine with Blundstones? TIA.
Seeing this thread has been resurrected... I bought a pair of Rossi boots when CCF - I think  - had them on sale a few years ago; and they are sh!te! Not especially comfortable, narrow at the toes, the leather has cracked more than would be expected and at both toe and heel the soles have come off.

My conclusion, based on only one pair because there's no way I'll buy another, is that Rossi boots are just not in the same league as Redbacks. No doubting that I work my boots hard, but I do look after them with regards to cleaning, drying and leather treatment.

Have bought two more pairs of Redbacks since and both look as near as damn it new; and older pairs of Redbacks are still in good order, they look and are in much better condition than the much newer Rossi boots.

You have been warned... 😐
