Ownership/enclosure of that farm Id say as colour and marking hard to show on old maps????

If they had been next to a settlement I would of thought they were burgage plots,still evident in our villlage
Edit,relooked at question and realise you meant the zig zag so I guess ownership marks of some description,

Poss a key ie Orchards? This also could be a key to show cultivation/meadows etc. The diamond pattern I would say is an orchard could mean the set pattern of how the trees are planted? The plain lines are the permanent pasture (around the farmhouse?)

They also look like printed over and not by hand and my other thoughts are modern so could be sales particulars or war mapping???

Would they be trees, maybe Oak trees given the age of the map and their importance at one time.
What date is on the map?

Looks like a map from 1880s or earlier. Have you access to more of similar in the area? You might find kit on one of the old map websites.

1850’s I think. No key but have emailed ordnance survey. Will they reply?
