Would have thought £5000 would buy a new Continental sprayer Comet pump and ARAG spray gear .

Have a used 1000 ltr Continental one in the shed but its a back up if anything happens the 2000 ltr one i usually use. Yarmet do them if you wanted a cheap new one versus a second hand one.

Only Continental but it uses Comet pumps and Arag controllers which are commonly used across a lot of firms even the tanks can be fairly standard just different colors .

I am actually a chicken farmer and use them for putting on detergents and disinfectants in the poultry houses so have to use a pump with a diaphragm as opposed to say a Berthoud with a piston pump which just wont stick some of the chemicals.

Am just on the edge of the Bramley apple growing area here in Northern Ireland.

Some apple men have Tifone Berthoud or Continental would be the main brands. Berthoud would use their own pumps as far as i know so parts could be dearer when its really only their own dealers you can get parts from.

Instead of the round fan housing with the nozzles pointing right round apart from facing down the newer sprayers seem to have a tower arrangement with the nozzles only pointing to the side presumably to reduce upward drift also the latest is some sort electrostatic charge [no its not a joke] look at the Tifone website.

I will have to do wee bit more research in difference in Tifone and continental. I use Tifone dealer currently to do all repairs but concerned main dealer for continental will be considerable amount more to do repairs. Just need see what pumps are difference, gearboxes aren't an issue. As it's all chicken house work.

Also are you manual or auto controls? Much issues with pumps or control valves. Hardi I have had arag controls and the disinfectant (Interkokask) has wrecked a few control valves. So I went manual now.

Manual controls tend to mix the fill when opening up the doors , haven't had any problems use Virofoam Viroshield Virex Cyclex and Kilcox haven't used Interkokask.

Haven't had any problems with pumps so far.

Are you in a cab or chemical suit ? Am in a cab with Category 4 filter system it's nicer than being out in it !!

Unfortunately no cab, some the house are to low, but where fan vented full face mask. Interkokask is what vets are pushing for 'problem' farms but it's just a sales pitch so they get a cut. It's same as Cyclex, but Cyclex better product.
