Organic, Conventional Farmers Deal with Pesticide Conflict

I seem to here this same story over and over again. How can we deal with this problems? Will we have to resort to somehow creating large swaths of land and entire valleys that are organic only areas? This story hits very close to home, I have trouble keeping my neighbors field sprinklers from spraying onto my garden and sometimes the field across the road has a cropduster spraying his field. I hope we can figure out a solution to this soon. http://magicvalley.com/business/agr...cle_b8558807-0bdf-5f0f-a44c-cdbf5b6eebec.html

I don't think that's so much of an issue in the UK. I don't think crop dusters operate here anymore (do they?). Our organic rules say we have to have an 8m of separation between non-organic (sprayed) crops and organic crops. As there's usually a couple of metres of land between crop and fence, the impact on the organic farm is marginal.

I'm not sure of the law on this though; As the UK is fairly populous I assume that many conventional farmers have difficulty when spraying fields that border houses and gardens.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
