Pay rates for 16year olds?

His herdsman that has been there for 6 years is still on £9hr no accom, no overtime rate, always on call, left on farm by himself the majority of the time. Yep

He said he would only pay the absolutely highest calibre £10. His herdsman picks out all sick cows, milks any day required, gets on with anything needed dairy related.

Get the hell out of there. I can earn £10 an hour all day long and have no end of people asking if I am looking for work and I'm barely capable of driving a scraper tractor. I don't expect (or want) to be running the place. I turn up and do what is required. If you can milk cows completely on your own and speaka de engrish then you are already worth something to somebody.

£10 an hour or it's not worth it considering the driving you are doing. I'd be down the road like Road Runner if I was in your shoes.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
