Peter Allen feeders

Anyone using a Peter Allen hopper filler to fill feeders such as 3 in 1s ? Are they worth the money ? With stock being kept further and further from the yard it seems a long way to fill feeders with the telehandler. TIA

My experience is that the 3 in 1 feeder hoppers are bigger than the peter allen hoppers, some customers have gone down the grain trailer and hydraulic auger route as you can use the trailer for storage and other uses throughout the year.

or you could buy a pivot trailer for your feeders.

Have just had a quote from Peter Allen today for a combi feeder which will mostly be used for filling creep feeders. Fed up with carting bags of feed !

Be great for topping up creeps for limmys , only need one flight as they will never be seen ever again and save a fortune on creep feed, this could be a relevultion in cattle cost control .

Wouldn’t be without mine obviously if the feeders are next door to your shed it’s quicker with a bucket but can fill 3 of these from nearly empty and only have to go threw the gate once (mines a mounted model)

also great for filling lots of smaller lamb creeps in spring

Are they worth much second hand ? Mine isn’t getting used now I’ve moved to crimp barley mixes and bought a big bucket

There is always some demand for auger filler trailers.
The field dispensers (rotor feeders) are worth something when in good condition, if you let me now your details I can offer to the outdoor pig sector.

Hey, joining in late to the party. I’m run pigs in remote fields and currently bag up the feed, and use gator, atv or pickup location and weather dependant. I’m looking to deign my own tow along hooper with aug feeder with adjustable arm to reach into pig pens. But fear I might just be reinventing the wheel?

Is there a name for such thing.
