Taken it to bits, can’t get it back together again. I’ve got the bolt back to hold the spring, how do I get the bolt back in the pull cable attachment? Tried rotating bar with mole grips but haven’t managed it. Am I doing this in the right order? I assume once I have done this I can put the keys back in the hooks and bolt the caps back on?

Trying to remember how but I think you need to do the cable arm first by off centering the shaft a bit then do the springs. Only bash the keyways in when you’re 100% everything else is right and in place!! Remember to check or re weld two blocks as stops for the hooks to stop them going forwards too much

You can turn the bar with the bolts in the end of it, it's how we used to release the hitch when the cable broke.
Can't remember what order everything should go back together in, it's been a long time since I rebuilt one of those.

What model Ford/NewHolland?
Got a Bill Bennett swing out pick up hitch sat on a pallet here.
Had it on a TSA110 that came with standard hitch which dealer didn’t tell us was no longer push out like the TS110 we had before it.
Stuck the original back on when traded in.

Non genuine kits are better than they used to be but they're still not as good as genuine.
What was wrong with it that you took it apart?

Right hand hook had too much play in it so when you raised the hitch the hook hit on the bar which it is meant to hook round.

Are the blocks above the hooks still there? Is it the keys that are worn?
Cheapest fix is to hold the release handle up when lifting the hitch but it isn't foolproof.

Blocks still there, could weld plate on top of hooks to stop them hitting. Keys and hooks worn unfortunately.
I remember the muck spreader coming off the pick up hitch as I was standing next to it as a kid, think I will fix it properly.

You could buy a length of keyway that’s slightly wider and grind a bit of a tapper on it and seriously wedge, bash and force it in! You need to hold tha handle up everytime you latch the hitch anyhow as wear in all the pivots lets the whole lower carriage let’s it come back a bit and depends what you’re hitching or the angle you’re parked at the latches will catch and be forced forwards creating more carnage!!!
