I have leak from the filler cap area of the tank of my John Deere tractor. I've tried a new genuine cap but hasn't made a difference so assuming it's the thread. Has anyone had any luck repairing the thread on a plastic tank?
Some masseys have a steel insert that threads onto the plastic thread on the tank and then the fuel cap threads into the steel bit. Could solve ur problem potentially. I had a problem with the same thing and got 1 of them and bonded it in with the stuf used to put windows onto a tractor and it worked a treat. They were fitted to a 54/64 series massey
Are you sure the tank is leaking? When the fuel hoses get porous they will pressurize the tank and fuel will leak from around the cap and when you loosen the cap you can hear air coming out
