They are cheap compared to many parts, last time I looked a nh one was less than 30 quid.

Just been repairing a leaking sprayer pistol grip with the soldering iron. It is important to get the same type of plastic to "weld" if you can. I am accumulating a small collection of different types of plastic scrap.
Go to the underside of the mudguard and feed the plastic into the join with your soldering iron. If the alternative is scrapping it, surely worth a shot. There are also some pretty impressibe plastic adhesives about these days. Very satisfying when it works and it doesn't cost you a lot if it doesn't.
