i think you will find maximum overhang only applies to the lighting. Put a light board on the back and you are fine.
Make sure the bearing are good with no slack, I would take a grease gun and give it a shot before you head off. Keep an eye that the wheel and bearing do not get too hot.
Do not attach the top link and as others say keep the speed down!

We were at a course with the police and vosa a few years ago and there's definitely a length before it's illegal and I know for certain that my 100 clearance 5 fur exceeds it and it had nowt to do with no lights

I can't remember the exact in and outs of it and I choose to ignore it but there was definitely a regulation to do with the length of mounted implements and my plough definitely exceeded it

Haven’t got the book to hand but you’re right, there is a definite figure for maximum projection, but there is also a lights requirement as well. Will look it up in the morning, unless @Simon Chiles beats me to it.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
