First of all, stop driving onto the transport, it only needs to go wrong once! Fit a winch, it pulls the kit on and holds the front down whilst doing it, and removes any possibility of sideways movement due to wheel slip.It will also hold the tractor if a ramp breaks(seen this happen!)
Over the years, tried both reversing and driving on, reversing seems to cause a significant loss of traction, I presume due to weight being transferred to the lower( front )wheels.
