Potato harvest!

Hello and evening everyone.

Ive just dug up my first ever home grown potatoes (maris piper). The plant died off a while ago so there werent any leaves /plant left above ground.

I think they all look good to eat? (see photo) apart from one tiny potatoe (see other photo).

Can anyone tell me what has gone wrong with that one tiny potato and the growths on it, and if the rest will be safe to eat?

Thank you very much

Thanks for the comment! The rest of them do all actually look quite nice! I just used regular multi compost on one of those black material type bags!

Does anyone else know what the little growths / nodules are and if the rest will be ok to eat (that ome little one was the only one with it on!)

Hard to see in pic, but I don’t think it looks like raised lenticels. They tend to be whiter, less raised and less clustered whereas the things in the pic look more opaque and egg like.

Can you pick some off, see if they’re part of the tuber or just stuck to the skin? Leave it in a warm place and see what happens.

I picked a couple off, definitely seem like theyve grown from/on the potato and not am egg. Ive attached another photo, what do you think...

Deadly. Get them thrown away before they kill you and get to your local Sainsburys and buy some proper farmer grown Potatoes.

I would prefer if anyone who is able to help tell me either way could let me know their honest opinion on eating the ones that look fine.

Thank you very much in advance
