You need an agroband. I know of a cheap oneI'll check up later. No nothing in furrow.

Lovely samples, can see why you are getting good prices, wonder what the sagitta would do like without water.
I keep thinking my land is played out with piper but my problem field was clean land.
Is this units of N? Does all your fertiliser go down the spout?
Interesting to see different fertiliser programmes. We put 100% in furrow, maybe we may benefit from a top up at tuber initiation. The field had cattle muck at 40t/ha giving 23kgN then 130kgN broadcast pre planting. With a top up of 106kgN at tuber initiation. So about 260 kg/ha of actual N.

They look a good sample. Our land just grew sick of piper. Can't get a crop no more any good. Sagitta do really well though.
Piper are hard to grow right, but they always sell. I'd say getting the size is the hardest bit. I think they need to be 16" apart and they never seem to bulk till September.
We use an agroband which seems to do a good job. We haven't noticed any ill effects, although im sure the planter stirs it up well! What do you use to put it in furrow? We used to have a planter with fert boxes on. Always used to put some in the furrow, but dad said it burnt the chits?
Heard there's a local merchant to me bringing in foreign markies and putting them out at £310 bagged.
Now that's not very sporting is it!
