I think there are also think you can get short discs to go in front too. I missed a 4m KRM, with a drill mate under, a couple of years ago because it was on the South coast and I have/had enough drills although I still slightly regret not having a look at it properly.
Have you seen the 4m foldy one on ebay? Been on several times, from Russells.

I just dont want to become one of those “Vegan” types that thinks I have discovered a new religion, about it all.

I’ve got some bad news for you, I’m afraid that this is probably the future for you. Provided that you aren’t daft enough to try dd’ing in situations that aren’t suitable you’ll soon find that your yields on the whole are either similar or slightly better, yield increase will be down to getting slightly better yields on the headlands and nature working for you rather than trying to beat everything into submission. Once the penny drops that your costs have plummeted and your margin has increased significantly you’ll then feel compelled to tell everyone about the new system you’ve discovered and everyone who hasn’t switched over to the system will accuse you of being evangelical. Over the years and after you’ve preached to anyone who will listen you will eventually get completely disheartened and go back into your shell because you’ll wonder why they just can’t see it and in the end you’ll just end up offering advise to those that are genuinely interested and willing to learn.

It’s the 3 point linkage lift capacity you need rather than the HP.
When mine arrived on the farm, I tried moving it with my Fastrac 2155 and she really struggled to lift it empty of seed!
Fortunately I have an NH7050 that picks it up no trouble at all.
But this was my main ploughing Tractor. If I need to plough and drilling at the same time, I now use the Fastrac on the plough and leave the Combi on the NH.
IMO the Fastrac is better on the plough than the NH anyway!
No
Hp dictates output, not lift capacity
it goes eithout saying that you can lift it

They are a very effective way to get a crop in after a plough

if they are “any good” is another discussion however, I would suggest there is no better way to destroy all soil structures than a power harrow
Well this year we have had the best spring barley yields ever using a power harrow drill combination. Our glacial soils benefit from autumn ploughing and winter weathering and just crumble in spring when sown. When we used to sow wheat 30 years ago it was the only way to beat the weather in the autumn here ploughing grass and sowing immediately. I would say it was no worse than watching our neighbours stir porridge with their mini till cultivators when the soil is too wet as it is now and as for the tatties being lifted just now then the tracks are going to leave a lot of soil damage with very little chance of wheat being sown. Have seen massive gully erosion on their fields down the tramlines in the spring with the combination of hard ground and heavy winter rains
