Power Harrow Combis, Are they really any good?

I have a question. I like many run a front press. This one is a solid coil between the wheels and 2 rows of KKK tines which I run only in about 2inchesat the most On to furrow pressed land. Now I know people mostly say that presses help PH to work and they can go a gear faster. Opposite way round here which I find really confusing. Only thing I can think is that when lifted up the front press sits nose of tractor down lifting PH combi up slightly. Anybody any other bright ideas? Very wet here now and progress is slower than normal and I’m picking the kindest fields.

Sumo tyre press ,will run in nearly any thing , ,drilled carrot field last week ,and ploughed a puddle in ,when went through it with drill was like driving through wet concrete , mind only a very small patch , never bungs up
If your 3 m i have a tyre tine , press you can come and borrow ,

I still our best chance are two light tractors, one power harrowing in front and one pulling the MF30.
I have fitted a drawbar to the back of the big harrow though. It will pull cambridge rolls in the spring if nothing else.

Combi only needs to be taking out the tyremarks.
2 8340's plough and drill with change out of £30k. I manage about 10 acres a day on my own when it's catchy.
or plough 20 one day and drill 20 the next when it's nice.
Mostly sand but enough patches / headlands of clay to need something heavier than a tine drill.
pair 8340 drill plough combi 2020 waiting.jpg

Only 100 acres so not a full time soil mangler.
Front press makes the job easier and reduces depth of wheelings.
I missed a 4m Moore drill during lockdown but I did get a 2.4m one which I want to try.

Are kuhn venta combi drills any good?
Yes on our 4th one here and good in all soil types it has to be on the point you really shouldn't be in the field before you get any bother .

As above very heavy with 1ton of seed on board this is light ish on the nose .

Yhe older ones the nc was even heavier but a very good drill . The LC wasn't strong enough for the good disc coulters

More power is the answer. Before you go wider
It’s the 3 point linkage lift capacity you need rather than the HP.
When mine arrived on the farm, I tried moving it with my Fastrac 2155 and she really struggled to lift it empty of seed!
Fortunately I have an NH7050 that picks it up no trouble at all.
But this was my main ploughing Tractor. If I need to plough and drilling at the same time, I now use the Fastrac on the plough and leave the Combi on the NH.
IMO the Fastrac is better on the plough than the NH anyway!

Another question. Anyone recommend a kv ngh 101 power Harrow and kv s drill.
Good or bad review welcome
Yes, I have one . Mines the S drill pro.
makes a good job . I have the hydraulic rams that allow me to lift the disc coulters out of work if need be, and it’s great if your backing up when turning on banky land , as you don’t catch the harrows .
Following the plough today on land after maize, that really could do with a few days drying, and it’s putting the seed in well enough .

Looks like it's doing a fine job. Just unsure Re disc Coulters as there are a lot more parts to wear v Suffolk.
Most people are going for them I think now.

Another question, why is there no drill mate combis about????
I think there are also think you can get short discs to go in front too. I missed a 4m KRM, with a drill mate under, a couple of years ago because it was on the South coast and I have/had enough drills although I still slightly regret not having a look at it properly.
