PPA prices

I was told a few weeks ago that Drax won’t be offering realistic prices for a few weeks yet, something to do with balancing charges from a partner. They’re nowhere near the market. You should at least talk to Alex or try the Renewable Exchange platform. The latter will show you what’s happening to prices, although seeing some offers and getting locked in are two different things. Prices on there tend to have an expiry time of one hour at the moment, and you can get zero offers at times. But at the very least it will show you what’s actually going on.
Are you not tied to Renewable Exchange if you ask for Tenders? Looked at it a couple of years ago. Drax were at the top of the market a month or so back and have probably got enough cover to pull back out of the market somewhat in this extreme volatile period

No. I guess you would be if you actually accept one of them though. There’s a price tracking chart on there tied to your renewal date so a great source of info.

This was Limejump on Wednesday. Day ahead and System prices shot up after this and have since dropped back again a bit. All very volatile. Many outfits wont quote at all, or only hold for a few minutes. Couldn't even get any buyers for month ahead during last week.

im out of contract with edf and looking for a good export deal where should i go ?

Today's bulletin from Limejump. Prices are per mwh, so base load is 19.518 p/kwh. Market is very twitchy, quotes tend to be only valid for a few hours.

Power has traded up today, largely following gas, but also in response to the continued low winds across most of northern Europe. Baseload for April 2022 has increased by £17.00/MWh to £225.00/MWh. Baseload for Summer 2022 has also increased, to trade at £225.00/MWh, an increase of £13.79/MWh.

UK NBP has increased across the curve in response to the confirmation from weather forecasts predicting a cold spell at the start of April, although the dip in temperature is only for a short period of time it is having an impact on the market. The ongoing conflict in eastern europe is casting doubt over european gas storage as further sanctions remain possible. April 2022 has increased by 19.98p/therm to trade at 260.00p/therm. Summer 2022 has increased by 30.00p/therm to trade at 262.00p/therm.

The UKA carbon emission allowance scheme has decreased to trade at £79.00

Has anyone had any problems finding out if they are in a ppa? I have tried phoning & emailing SSE but have had no response whether I am currently in contract or not.

Give us a little detail, do you claim FITs, how long have SSE been paying for your export. Are you just claiming presumed export.
For certain 2 things, if you have been on your current conntract for any length of time , then you will be recieving the minimum 5.7p or even 3.8 and SSE are a nightmare to deal with. Everyone you speak to says yes they will sort it thank you and nothing ever happens
