Can you take the grilles out of the bonnet and have a man with a skilled hand respray em? Or are you gonna tidy up the paint as part of the master plan anyway?

I think the red rims look a lot nicer than silver. (y)

I assume moving the cab is no real problem because the thing can move in it's original form, so it's literally a case of disconnecting and reconnecting cables? Almost like it was designed to be moved about.

That’s a very nice looking machine for it’s age and if I was still looking I would be very tempted. In fact I suppose in theory I could still swap it for mine but I think I’ve set sail now so will stick with what I’ve got.

All the paint will be tidied up at some point but I don’t have time for that now. The priority is just to get the thing converted and working for now. Who knows, if we have a wet summer I’ll have more time and can go further.

The Trac VC model like mine has a long umbilical of pipes and wires from the main chassis to the cab and I have been told by a contractor in Denmark with experience of converting several Xerion’s that it is all long enough to reach when mounting the cab out front, so hopefully we won’t have to disconnect anything except the hydraulic pipes that actually feed the lift and turn ram.
