Could a saddle trac still be used for normal work, bit random just we like the idea of one with a tanker on the back but we cant justify two tractors so to have one it would need to do all the drilling cultivations etc the drawback we see is the cab being so far forward

It can still be used as normal, just visibility to the back would be quite compromised I should think. That said, the cab sits high so you could probably still see the front of a drill or cultivator.

That all had to come off to get the top shaft off, which had to come off with the rams intact because my super extraction tool couldn’t manage them.

Several of these bits now need to go back on you might know.

Looks a bit bare now.

Surely that’s what the trac VC was made for? Spin the cab and have it ‘reverse drive’ with the tanker on the back, then unhitch, spin the cab back round to normal and put her on the cultivator?

I hope not, but most likely yes!!!

I don’t think you would want to mount a tank above the engine on a VC. It would be very high.

May be crossed wires here. I thought Michael meant mount a tanker but he may mean tow a big one on a mid mounted ball hitch.

I meant the mounted style but after i posted that a seen kaweco do one that goes on a vc with the cab spun around

A just didnt think the in reverse drive the front linkage would have the lift for a decent sized dribble bar

The vc with it on seems like it would be good all round tool, i just found a video of one the farmers weekly went to see years ago, a will need to have a look an see if anyone still making the tanks for the vc

Scratch that, the two contractors that have them both have saddle trac now, one of those originally had VC with the tank mounted on it and has replaced for a saddle trac.
