Got her all plumbed in, well roughly, with a couple of used pipes just for a trial run.

Neil from Precise Solutions came yesterday to fit a new Agleader InCommand 800 rate controller screen to work with the Claas GPS system already installed on the tractor.

But the tractor wouldn't talk to the AgLeader. Or vice versa. So He set up the old Trimble EZGuide 250 and off we went.

All seemed to work OK. It will put 6200kg/ha on (2.5t/ac) @ 20 kph and so I'll be happy with that. Ran out of time to try it as though I'm spreading fert with discs flat out because I had an appointment to get to. (Got to that, just parking the car and the person I was to see rang and cancelled :banghead:)

Back in the field today, had another razz about with a few more settings. Just about to try it in granular fert mode and Ed Parker from Claas arrived to see about sorting out a diesel leak from the tank. Didn't get time to sort either after a natter because I had to get to the dentist ( forgot about that!!).

Ed did get a go on the narky GPS but when he set it in straight A-B mode it swerved about all over the place like SuperGrann on a moped after 9 sherries so I think there is definitely summut amiss. He's going to get the Claas GPS man to give me a call.

So, all in all, about what I expected, nearly there but not quite.

Quietly liking it so far. :)

Looking good Pete.
If you are doing 6200kg @ 20kph what is your gate height set at?
That’s a fairly good result I would have thought.

When I was about 15 I did throw a hammer at a set of discs once that had viciously removed the skin off my knuckles. The hammer missed the discs and put a big dent in the side of Dads Marina van.

He wasn’t best pleased
We once had a tyre fitter lose his temper and hit the tyre with his lump hammer , The hammer bounced back and won the day . One sparko tyre fitter and a lot of blood ...

A bit off-topic, but more years ago than it seems I bought myself a second-hand BMW M3 that was having some gearbox issues. It was one of the very earliest SMG gearbox models and nobody wanted to touch it as that gearbox was still viewed as witchcraft outside of the dealer network.

Anyway the day came for me to drop the gearbox to see what the issue was. The bell-housing bolts were being a pain, and combined with the lack of space around the bulkhead meant I was starting to lose my patience.

Eventually I reached the end of my tether, and in a fit of rage I threw the (19mm?) spanner across the workshop, which promptly bounced off a shelf of tins and straight back into the drivers side window. Which shattered, just in time for a tin of red cellulose paint to fall through the now weakened window and spill its glorious Rosso Red contents all over the black interior of the BMW.

Naturally that did nothing to improve my mood ...

Did you manage to fix the gearbox though? [emoji23]
