That may explain your gps gremlins we had no end of bother with a gps when a tractor was slightly down on voltage still had enough to start and run as normal but gps needed slightly more v’s and wasn’t happy at all.

Anyone know if the whole hopper and rear axle is fitted on the link arms or demount frame or similar so it could be removed in a few minutes, or a permanent mod?

No idea. I think it looks like a permanent modification?
