Must be finished by now with all the 'not visiting relatives' and or going to the pub at Christmas................
You like a challenge! That would be nice. It seems everything is taking three times as long as I would like!
Got everything stripped off the chassis now, so she’s bareback. There was a fair bit of wiring and air pipes to redirect from a catwalk and rack full of plugs and air unions so that was all a faff.
Then I’ve had to move and shorten the exhaust too, which meant undoing lots of other bits and bobs, cutting the exhaust, welding it back together, making new stay bars etc etc.
Just sat the body over the back this morning. I’ve now got to cut down and adapt the main rear mounting brackets which were on the Multistrife and have been adapted once for the Xerion.
Now I’ve got to mount body somehow taking into account the huge amount of twist that occurs when the truck goes on to undulating ground. The Bredal body has no give at all so could very often only be touching the chassis in three out of the four corners. I need to fabricate fixings with a lot of extension in them.
Got my brother coming to have a look tomorrow for a bit of a brainstorm!
Thanks for the update Pete. My comment was only meant tongue in cheek but genuinely fascinated. Let’s see some pics ....That would be nice. It seems everything is taking three times as long as I would like!

Would it need mounting on just three points then two at the rear and one central at the front bit like a haib on a lorry or indeed like my unimog body was mounted or even long mounting bolts with springs bit like ali powered tankers have?
On an other note you mentioned that (on the other thread) about not running in the same tracks front and rear wheels? how about a steered rear axle that only went say half lock in either directions (just so the track was different from the front) worked by a simple electric spool valve left or right with a mechanical lock in the centre for road use
By the way excellent thread........both of the builds I've followed shame about the class
Mr Mogman
On our multidrive the bredal box is on three mounts two rear and one at front@limey2450 will confirm his situation, but given chassis twist at the rear, I'd say you'd be better with the single mount at the back, and a pair at the front, so the pivot is as near to the movement as possible?
Will you have some form of other connection other than the springs so they cannot move too far if the worst happens? On my Multistrife it was way too rigid, front and back. The back in two places, one each side onto a big cross member. At the front there were a pair of big kind of claws fixed to a cross member inside the chassis.
We’ve run one wheel of the Zetros up a heap of planings and had a good look. There is hardly any twist at the back couple of feet of the chassis, probably due to the heavy duty spring hangers, so we will mount it well on the back and then on some heavy tension springs on the front, both pulling at a slight angle toward the chassis to keep it from wandering sideways.

Like a panhard rod or similar I guess.

Thats the way, half arsed but an enthusiastic effort ,top effort pedroBlimey!!! I’ve not had a compliment like that ever!!!
I’m honestly not that skilled. I can make a half decent job of things, but the amount of stuff I have to do twice is a constant source of annoyance to me!!
I know when to give up and get advice too. I’ve got quite a lot of contacts over the years so know who to ask to either advise or do jobs for me.
I’m enjoying this sort of thing less as the years go by if I’m honest. I don’t have a nice workshop to do anything in and long for a glass-smooth floor and heating!!

To be fair pete, there's a lot of kit made by folks who should've given up and asked for help!Blimey!!! I’ve not had a compliment like that ever!!!
