Prospective pay rise

No, hang on,maybe i’m not explaining it well.
I have been offered two options of payrise,
An increase in basic and overtime at 1.5 or
A bigger increase in basic but overtime at 1.4.
The difference between those 2 options is approx £140/ yr
Which is the better option and why give a choice ? 🤔
Perhaps this is why i read it wrong,

I'm with you now, thought I'd got something wrong, my fault, bit thick:wacky:
Perhaps better off with the higher increase in basic?
Not many people on an overtime rate over here, all just flat rate. I've never really worked out what's better.

With inflation at 5.1% and the increase in national insurance tax going up in April, you’ll need a 6.3% pay rise to stay the same. Anything less and you’ll be worse off.
