Quad sheep trailers

Hi, anyone got a sheep trailer from rob astley trailers? Looking at the 7x4 twin axle. Hoping twin axles will help bearings last longer and give a smoother ride. I prefer fold down sides over solid. Any other recommendations? Thanks

My son made a twin axle one for a level DT. Cost and time meant fixed axles, not rocking but it rides really well. Rob Astley very slow delivery if it isn't in stock, neighbour was waiting six months for his single axle one.

I’ve had a Rob Astley (single axle) quad trailer for 10 years, and bought a snacker from them since.
It’s well enough built kit for the price and I’d be happy to have another trailer off them. Give them a ring, they’re pretty approachable on the phone, and will give you a good idea of delivery times on the phone ime.
When I bought the snacker they dropped it in foc, but I am a lot closer than a lot I guess. No complaints on either purchase from them as yet.

Their trailer axles have grease nipples on btw, which I only found out when I took the wheels off as the balloon tyres had perished after 8 years.🤐🤣

Got a single axle trailer from him, been fine.

No grease nipples on it that I could find when I attached the axles. Done a lot of work.

Got a twin axle and single axle one here.
Bought the twin axle locally at a good discount after someone bought and hardly used it.!
Good trailers, the twin axle one can take a bit of pulling if you fill it up with sheep!
Only slight criticism is they sit slightly high, often have to lower the door down on it if loading sheep into it rather than use the hinged door in the middle due to its height and the sheep or lambs trying to crawl under the trailer.
I found Rob Astley a bit abrupt to deal with when I bought the single axle one 🤔. Saying that I would buy another.

Son took ours as a tup taxi at the NSA. First customer had six Berrichon tups on one load, which tested it out.

Have a D A Rees 8x4’6” here on 13” wheels and lift off canopy. Bearings a lot bigger than the 7x4 on little wheels. Been a faultless trailer and the extra 6” width is a lot better when you’r carrying the quad.

I did think of making one then it was how i want it but then i saw rob astleys and thought i couldn't make one for that.@Pistonbroke whats yours like when turning on wet ground?

Other than being a bit bigger and heavier than the normal trailer, it's no different. Every time I use it I can't get over how smooth it travels. It must be that one wheel rides over a hole while the other bears the weight

Sounds better than i thought. That was the other benefit of twin axle, less bounce got to be kinder on the wheels and bearings.
