Quick Question About AI and Due Dates

Got the first ped Lim due now. She was AI'd on the 17th and 18th of August and her 279 days was the 23rd and her 287 days is Sunday... She looks a wee bit off to me yet. This is my first time with AI so the first time Ive had an accurate due date (ish). When would you boys and girls that do a lot of AI'ing start to get worried??? I'm 100% overthinking but any tips would be great. Cheers

She was AI'd on the morning of the 17th and the morning of the 18th after being synced. Did 4 in total, 3 returned and ran with a Burnbank bull and she took. Just AI'd those two dates and then scanned in-calf

AI'ing her again wasn't an option as a mate came to the island to do it for me over a weekend

Should be fairly accurate then, and even if she is late overdue she would start to bag up anyhow!

At this stage of you put her in crush and have a feel you will be able to feel easily if there is a calve

Thanks for the replies (y)

I actually waited until the vet could get here to scan them before they went near a bull as at the time the bull wasn't available so she is 100% in to the AI.

Giving plenty signs yesterday, up and down, pawing at herself, constant tail thrashing, bags tight too so I thought she would start last night but not yet. I hope she isn't two weeks away cause she looks pretty big! I'm finding it harder with her when compared to the cross simmy heifers where you will be pretty definite when they'll calve with a good study but as I say, I'm definitely overthinking!

It looks likes folks average gestation is far greater than the 'most common' 279 to 289 days. I guess the lesson here is, look at the cow, not a calving app!!!

I’m a blonde breeder. 292 days for heifer calves and 295 for bull calves is my stock bulls average over the last two years.
I have had rare cases in the past of 310 days.
Manage the diet for the last two to 3 months months, straw and minimal grass or silage plus minerals in whatever form suits you.

Get a MooCall calving sensor too.

I've got a MooCall but she's up in a field next to the shed so I can halter her if need-be but the signal isn't great unfortunately. Although I'm told they can work off minimal signal strength so I might just put it on her anyway
