40 mm in last 36 hrs plus 20 last Friday. Tramlines all full, floods up, sheep being moved out of flood meadows. Cambs, not Wales. What the hell is going on.

Perfect here this will be setting things up for grain fill nicely - 25mm so far on dry ground and dry and warm forecasts for the end of the week to let us get on with the sprayer

What the hell is going on.

As usual, either a) "Maritime climate" ie we live in a generally sodden country where localised downpours are now the norm or b) some sodding stock farmer has been praying for rain fro their parched grass. Lets hope this Azores high bucks up and also stays about this year. Thermometer said 9 degree on the way back from York. Flaming June anyone?

Finally getting a little bit this evening - o.5mm so far and looks set light but steady for the night will do the world of good to all crops

Can't remember the last time I was happy it was raining ! It's needed here now
Early April last year for me. At the time I didn't realise it wasn't going to stop again until April this year.

No, not the same. This time last year the winter barley was about 5ft tall and we were making 8" ruts spraying. This is different rain from a different direction, and should be stopping very soon.

74mm total for May 2013, makes May wetter than 2012 at 39.52mm. 74 only just above average really and following a very dry April at 7.5mm, compared to 131.5mm in 2012. 2012 was killed by 168.5mm in June and 123mm in July, certainly don't want a repeat of that

33mm this week, so thing looked pretty wet on Thursday morning, although drying nicely now.

Only 36mm in May after 44mm in April, fairly dry on this light ground plants starting to roll up! Im trying very hard not to ask for rain. Nothing forecast for a week at least. Its very unfair farming on these Islands, some want rain and only a short distance away people are washed out regularly.
