Red tractor stakeholder survey on governance

Even though the direct debit is cancelled, I’m still a member (or the farm business is) so I listened/watched the online hustings, of all the candidates going for office this time, it was noticeable the number of questions that were framed by the opening phrase of how are you going to build on the work of minette. There is obviously people out their that still think she is wonderful, and they seem oblivious to the fact that increasing numbers of farmers are so upset with the leadership.

If it's so good how come people are leaving and there is anger?

It was never thus with the previous.

I think she's a crook, sad to say but I do

Who the feck does she think she is Elton John????
Fecking farewell tour, its a wonder she can get her head through the door. Jesus.
Showing us all how brave she by coming out of the nuclear bunker knowing there’s death threats flying left right and centre😂😂😂

Do the NFU have a contract to be supplied with armour plated Rolls Royce staff cars?
Or does she prefer to stand up in the back of a convertible?

Am I right in thinking it’s presentation day tomorrow to the NFU?

Will we ever hear the result or have the NFU got the hole dug ready to bury the report just in case on the remote chance it’s not to there liking

Still leaves them in the mire with BRC / RT wanting to let GFC ("voluntary") by April and likely before the promised "farmers" consultation .............

The official version of the ‘findings’ will be released next month.

I imagine NFU /AFS have invested in quite a bit of lacquer. There are some things you just can’t polish.

Will they ever release the full report?

It won’t reflect well at all on CTs reputation if the report is obviously sexed-up in NFU/AFSs favour.

Equally there will be all hell in if we only ever get a summary/bullet point version from NFU/AFS.

Wonder whether anyone at the NFU top table is having sleepless nights or whether they have already set the scope of the conclusions the same way they seem to have defined the ‘review’ quite narrowly.

the governance report will do no more than confirm they take minutes correctly etc. …….. that’s all “governance” is

the report we need should look at conflicts of interest, appointments and most importantly the need for red tractor at all and its ability to deliver premium that more than covers its cost

To me it looks like the big hitters in the NFU are lining Dim Jim to carry the can. I would not be surprised if this has already been decided in secret.

Dont be fooled into thinking all is forgotten after he gets the boot. He was still enabled by the NFU being useless at holding RT to account.

The NFU have paid for the report from Camel Tickle so it will get framed to get the least worst result they want, which is probably to blame Mosely alone.

The problems are:
1) 'We' are ****ing furious.
2) BRC wants to continue 'business as usual' - mission creep at RT, implementation of GFC etc etc.

The problem is that to solve 1) would involve at least wholesale reform of RT (which BRC would never allow to happen), but 2) obviously is in no way acceptable to RTs farmer members.

I suspect the outcome of these 'reviews' will be a third way fudge. Pin the blame for farmers dissatisfaction on Jim as he heads out the door then continue with what BRC wants.

I still think that in order to cut RT down to size we will need to take drastic measures involving a mass walkout. I would be perfectly happy to do that if I knew that thousands others were doing so at the same time and we'd see where the chips land.
