how do you flush their mafia business model down they drain though ?

if i stop paying they stop me trading
Yes that is a problem currently but it’s obvious reform is needed or they wouldn’t be wasting our money on the current charm offensive.

I think we need to see what brexit brings

and to be honest if there is anyone out there who can legally prove that having to be a member of the cartel to sell grain on the world market is illegal I would be prepared to donate one years membership fee to help pay costs.

Reform in any of these bodies won't happen if they keep recruiting from within. It's all the same people moving around the jobs and they are all have the same agenda. This isn't just Red Tractor - its all of them.

Red Tractor won't change at all and will be defunct in 10 years. That is my prediction. Feel free to bookmark it.

We make lives easier and happier for all stages of the food chain.
Vets are happy with a nice little earner sticking there signature on a health plan
Processors are happy with being able to buy cheaper non-fa when there is plenty or pay more for non fa lambs rather than put up the fa price.
Retailers are happy with a having a premium product at no extra cost.
Farmers should be happy with a premium, saving time, saving money.

Note; The outcome of this consultation is that in future, a farmer being unhappy would be a non-compliance.

Well, I will just stop. Less stress, less hassle, produce will still be the same, just grow feed and take the knock, why should my hard work susidise his shiny suits and no doubt brown shoes.
I'm sure that if need be a deal could be struck with a farm that was assured in the case of Milling and Malting
I have been a member since its inception, joining on the promise of higher prices being given if assured, which fell by the wayside in short order. It's just a ball ache.
For example they failed me as my grain shed door was open (I was due a lorry in so no issue to me) I then had to close door and take a picture, this is two 20ft high sliding doors that meet in the middle of a 20ft bay. They sent back an email stating that the door was not shut enough. I measured it and at it's widest point it was 1/2". Just an example of how petty and stupid they are.

Reform is the higher, more onerous and new standards they want WILL implement. 😡

I see huge similarities between Red Tractor and the EU.

Both started with great intentions and did benefit everyone.

They gradually became self-serving and removed from the citizens at the bottom.

When reform gets mentioned, they take it as a chance to chuck more coal on the fire and hurtle further down the track to where they want to go and away from the place where most were happy.

They operate in a way to not address peoples concerns about staying but make them afraid to leave.

Had my inspection yesterday, new assesser but it went ok and passed .
He says that things are going to tighten up soon with crop assurance and spot checks, which have been hinted before are 100% coming within 12 months . If you fail an initial inspection , the number of fails( and depending on the reason) will trigger via some calculation a risk factor . A high risk factor will then deem a spot inspection at some point in a 6 month slot . In other words, not having a correct sign on your chem store would be rated low risk but finding rat s..t inside your store would be obviously rated high risk and therefore more likely to get a spot check.
Also on a big recruitment drive at the moment apparently . Wether that's because a lot of assessors have left or gearing up for the above, have no idea .

That’s right. No functionary ever said “that needs pruning or rationalising”.
I have my RT inspection coming up. Both i and the inspector know it’s a bit of a joke. Every now and again he has to fail me on something to look like he is doing his job. A farce really. Loads rejected this year. All that matters is the sample at intake. The rest counts for Jack sh!t.

Time sell up and buy the retirement residence and go drive the spray van I reckon. Always fancied hurtling through the wolds in a 7.5 tonner.

Thing is though Clive, without paying for this joke we can’t sell any cereals as we both know. It needs an avalanche of cereal farmers to leave the scheme en masse giving the trade no option but to buy non assured. I’d stop being a member at the drop of a hat but only if say 90% of other farmers did the same. How can this be arranged?
