I have a Friend that has his engine run wild and put a conrod trough the side taking the camshaft with it . A new iveco engine is needed but very hard to find . Does anyone know if these engines are used in trucks or something else ?

Phone your local Iveco truck dealer. In my experience, they're very helpful.

I had a problem with our Manitou (similar to a Redrock I think) the other week. Spoke to the parts guy at my nearest Iveco dealer (50 miles away) for the first time ever. He emailed me images of the bits I thought I wanted, told me how to save some money, and had the part I eventually needed with me that same day.

Our Manitou is an MLA 630-125. They probably have the exact same engine, but are nearly as rare as your Redrock...

no not the same, the TH500 was a big beast 5ton lift and a 6 cylinder 180hp engine BUT the engine was very much the same just bigger

probably be very hard to find an engine that is exactly the right build as a second hand IMO

some 6 cylinder McCormicks might be very similar though maybe something like a old MTX 150?

maybe @leone75 will have a 6 cylinder NEF engine knocking about???

I've a scrapped 7.5 tonner with a good donk in it - looks like its rated 150bhp though.
Loadsa them on the net seemingly, circa £600

I had one of these loaders and I hated it , however seen as red rock did not make many of these , I don’t think these were specially made for red rock. So a replacement should be found in some other machines

There is an advert for new New Holland engines in one of this months magazines- can’t remember which though. I think it’s either farmers guide or classic tractor.

Thanks for the answers so far . He was a bit stuck and didn't know if they were used in trucks and or other applications. Iveco truck dealer and several engine reconditioning company's couldn't really help or offer an solution . Maybe if a new engine is to expensive the machine could be a write off.

Did you get sorted with an engine? Have a redrock th500s myself and if your planning on scrapping your own one id be very interested in buying the whole machine!

He is goiing to fit a engine and adapt it when he has some spare time . The rest of the machine was immaculate.
100% of you change your mind sure let me know what your looking for the machine! I bought a burnt one ah 12 years ago, it only did a season so everything is like new, problem i have is i need the entire cab electrics and the transmission control unit to get mine running, was planning on using a 416s or 426e tcu to sort the transmission as they used a 6wg-160 gearbox aswell so should work, but ideally if i could get a non burnt 500 or 500s would be my best option
