Different goals. One is tasked with ensuring good practice when applying through cpd, the other in making the legislation surrounding it. I would imagine the register is HSE looking at pesticide use and trying to get a handle on what’s happening ahead of any new legislation coming our way.

let’s be clear what NRoSO CPD consists off

basically sending already quantified operators on some child like treasure hunt at cereals etc or paying out yet more cash for them to listen to somebody often less experienced than themselves

or they can of course get some free points reading farmers weekly or TFF 🤣

it’s an insult to intelligence frankly …….. yet another way of industry hanger ons extracting cash from farmers bottom line

Same here on the Document file. Not very "Open" is it....

If it won't open as a pdf or doc file, WTF do they bother...?

Shades of the early development of the digitisation of Govt claim websites, when the developers seemed to forget that not everyone is accessing the site with a mega fast Office intranet.
Pleased to see they are using the .ods format for spreadsheets, works with Libre Office (free!). I am fed up of Government requiring us to pay Microsoft to be able to fill in their forms.

I never said it was any good. I was merely pointing out it wasn’t run by RT and was different to what the government appear to want.

I agree most of it is a waste of time however I do think there needs to be something. Continual learning is a must and unfortunately there are plenty of people who think once they pass something donkeys ago they are still experts.

I personally think they should make it more like a mini BASIS rather than the dumbed down stuff they do.

So this form, is it so that those that have PA1/2 etc that are actively spraying sign up so they can keep spraying and those that have PA1/2 that don’t sign up have their certificates taken off them? I’m not spraying at the moment and havn’t for 5 years but I am often asked to relief for a few farms if I had time. With the sheep job like all other sectors so uncertain I may be better off having quarter of the sheep and going back spraying. If it’s a way of keeping the certificates alive then it’s a very naughty trick. On the contrary if it is a “keep the certificate alive” scenario then I would keep it going - you never know what’s around the corner!

Hence why most I know don’t go for them, your lucky your in the midlands, imagine if your 7 hours each way from cereals. The last time I went to cereals I got the 2 points on the gate then didn’t bother with the others, subsequently those 2 points never arrived on my NRoSO forms 🤦🏻‍♂️ Most I know don’t go to cereals, 1 it’s to far, 2, usually to busy spraying..
